Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff/GL Accountant is responsible for ensuring all transactions are processed on a timely basis, in accordance with GAAP. This position requires an individual with excellent organizational skills and a proven record of accuracy and attention to detail in a busy, fast-paced environment. Independent judgment, self-direction and initiative are required. This position is located in Los Gatos, CA.

Responsibilities:

• General ledger accounting and month-end closing activities including journal entries, adjustments, accruals, allocations and account reconciliations.
• Create month-end accounting reports and applicable distributions.
• Prepare various PBC schedules and roll-forward reports for compliance, tax returns and audits.
• General Ledger account analysis and reporting.
• Provide recommendations for new client credit worthiness and limits.
• Assist in contract reviews for complex invoicing.
• Assist with preparing and maintaining documentation of policies and procedures.
• Identify areas of improvement and implement ways to improve, streamline and automate current accounting process.
• Work with internal departments to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and resolve outstanding issues.
• Perform special projects as required.


Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Accounting.
• 2-3 years of general accounting, account analysis and reconciliation, and journal entry preparation.
• Technical knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent organizational skills, accurate and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience using QuickBooks or similar.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Self-direction and initiative to take on tasks without being asked.
